Project Overview
Aerem Environmental was engaged following a fire at the Marist Rugby Club premises in Mount Albert. The incident caused significant damage to the building structure, resulting in the disturbance of asbestos-containing materials and requiring urgent remediation to ensure safety for club members, contractors, and the community.
- Aerem Environmental provides specialist asbestos consultancy and compliance services for the Auckland War Memorial Museum as part of a complex, multi-stage remediation programme in one of New Zealand’s most significant heritage buildings.
- Our role includes developing and advising on safe removal methodologies tailored to the museum’s operational and heritage requirements, conducting continuous air monitoring using our on-site mobile laboratory, and undertaking staged clearance inspections in line with WorkSafe NZ regulations.
Scope
- Providing technical consultancy on asbestos removal methodology post-fire.
- Conducting background, control, and clearance air monitoring throughout removal works.
- Performing four-stage clearance inspections to verify all asbestos hazards were eliminated before reoccupation.
- Delivering detailed compliance documentation in alignment with WorkSafe NZ regulations and insurance requirements.
Outcome
