FAQs
What is an Asbestos Mobile Laboratory?
Our Asbestos Mobile Laboratory is a fully equipped, mobile testing facility that allows us to analyse asbestos samples directly at your site. This eliminates delays from sample transport and provides rapid results to help keep your project moving safely and compliantly.
What types of samples can you analyse on site?
We can test a range of materials for asbestos, including:
Building materials (cement sheeting, vinyl, insulation, etc.)
Dust and debris
Soil samples
Air monitoring filters
How quickly can we get results?
On-site analysis typically provides results within the same day — often within hours — depending on sample volume and complexity. This enables faster decision-making for clearance, demolition, or remediation work.
Is your mobile laboratory accredited?
Yes — our asbestos analysts are trained and competent, and all testing follows IANZ-accredited laboratory procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with New Zealand regulations.
What are the benefits of using a mobile lab instead of a fixed lab?
Faster turnaround – results on the same day
Reduced downtime – minimises work stoppages while awaiting results
On-site decision-making – immediate remediation or clearance actions
Compliance assurance – testing meets required standards and legal obligations
Where can the mobile lab operate?
Our mobile lab can be deployed anywhere in New Zealand, including remote locations where fixed lab services are not practical. It is ideal for construction sites, industrial facilities, and large-scale remediation projects.
Can you carry out air monitoring and fibre counting on site?
Yes — we can undertake real-time air monitoring during asbestos removal works, with on-site fibre counting to determine airborne asbestos fibre concentrations before, during, and after works.
Does on-site testing replace independent verification?
While mobile lab testing provides rapid results, all analysis follows the same strict procedures as our fixed laboratory. For regulatory compliance, results from the mobile lab are treated as official and can be used for clearance documentation.
What health and safety measures are in place?
The mobile lab is fitted with HEPA-filtered extraction systems and adheres to strict contamination control protocols. All analysts wear appropriate PPE, and waste from the lab is managed in accordance with asbestos disposal regulations.
How do I book the mobile lab?
Contact our team with details of your project, location, and expected sample volumes. We will confirm availability, mobilise the lab, and provide an estimate for on-site testing services.
